30 Apr Moving Maths: Bringing Coordinates to Life!
Our 5th class recently took a hands-on approach to learning about coordinates during an Active Maths lesson.
As the children were finding this topic a little challenging, we brought the lesson to life by moving to the school hall. Using masking tape, we created a large coordinate grid on the floor. With whiteboards and picture cards in hand, the pupils were able to physically move around the grid to find and plot different points.
This interactive approach made a big difference — the children found the lesson much more enjoyable and engaging, and it really helped to build their understanding in a fun and memorable way.
