P.E: Throwing challenge! Do five rounds, then repeat for an extra challenge!

Equipment needed:A pair of socks and an empty bin

Instructions

  • Station 1: Stand 2 metres away from the bin. You must do 10 high knees before attempting to throw the sock into the bin. If you get it in the bin you can take a step back and start round 2. If you miss you must go back and do 10 high knees again before throwing.
  • Station 2: If you have got the sock in at the first station you must take a step back. This time you must do 10 jumping jacks before attempting to throw the sock into the bin. Once again, if you get it in you move onto the next station and if you miss you must do 10 jumping jacks before attempting to throw again.
  • Station 3: When you have got the sock in the bin in station 2, move onto station 3. This time you must do 10 squats before throwing the sock. Same rules apply. If you miss you have to do all 10 again before moving on.
  • Station 4: When you’ve completed station 3 take a step back again. This time you have to complete 10 push ups before throwing the sock.
  • Station 5: When you’ve completed station 4 take another step back. This time you must complete 10 push ups. When you get the sock in this station you have completed the game!

Tip: Play this game against someone in your family to make it more fun and competitive!

Gaeilge: Bia

  • Create a three-course meal for tonight’s dinner.  You must decide what you are going to cook for each course: starters(RĂ©amhchĂşrsaĂ), main courses (PrĂomhchĂşrsaĂ) and desserts (Milseoga).  Don’t forget to include the drinks (Deochanna).  When you have decided what to cook:
  • Write out the shopping list (Liosta SiopadĂłireachta) with all the ingredients you will need in Irish.
  • Create a colourful menu (Biachlár) for your family outlining what they are going to eat tonight.  Use the course headings above to help you.

S.E.S.E

  • Find a map of Ireland and see can you find the answers to the following questions
  • How many counties are there in each province?
  • What counties are the biggest/smallest?
  • Which ones are close/far away from Dublin.
  • Which counties touch the sea and which ones don’t?
  • How many Counties are in Northern Ireland?
  • Which counties have mountains/lakes?

Test yourself after and see how many counties you can name without looking!

S.P.H.E

  • Write a list of things that you are happy and grateful for to try and help you see the positives and important things in life.
